Who I Am & What I Do

As a kid, I was hooked on photography from the moment I stepped into
a darkroom in 7th grade. My very first paycheck of $17 was used to
buy a little 110 camera (remember those?) and I've been spending my
earnings on photography related things ever since.

I specialize in what is often called "lifestyle portraiture" ~ I use a
journalistic approach during a photo session.
I strive to capture the true essence of each person, as well as the
relationship between family members.

A treasure will be created for you ~ a special moment captured and
transformed into beautiful artwork for your home.

The anticipation of a child; the newness of infant skin; the wonder of
children; the unique way siblings interact; and the playfulness of
families or couples, all great reasons to honor your memories with a
photography session!

Posing has its place and uses, but it is only a very small (if at all) part
of any session.

I prefer to photograph "on location". That could be a local park, yard,
home, your favorite stomping grounds, etc. This is artwork customized
to your life, so it should reflect surroundings that are part of your life.

Newborn sessions will take place in your home to ensure less
interruption in your baby's schedule. Natural lighting is preferred.

Need a portrait but you really want a classic backdrop? I can bring the
studio to you. Again, it's keeping you comfortable during the session!

My number one priority is to keep you at a comfort level so that the
camera doesn't feel like an intrusion. (We all know how annoying it is
to pose endlessly as our cheeks feel like cracking from forced smiles ...
thus, that annoyance will never a part of my creative process!)

I'm also: a Wife, Mom, Daughter, Sister, Teacher, and hippo
collector, just in case you're wondering :)
